Yasmin Hosein is 12, She lives in Cincinnati with her mother and father and her two brothers, her parents are from Pakistan. They speak Urdu with Yasmin’s grandparents. Urdu is one of the languages of Pakistan. Yasmin can understand Urdu, but she can´t speak it.
Yasmin goes to Vine school. She’s in the seventh grade. Her favorite subjects are Geography, Math, and Physical education. “I like sports. I’m on the school basketball team”.
In her free time, Yasmin goes to the movies with her friends or listens to music. “I love music. I play the guitar and the piano”. She also likes shopping at the mall on Saturdays. “It´s fun. I collect jewelry. I have lots of bracelets, rings, necklaces, and earrings. It isn’t expensive. It´s cheap, but I like it”.
Every summer, Yasmin goes to Pakistan with her family. “My mother’s sister, Aisha, lives in Karachi. We usually stays in her house. It’s very hot in Karachi, but I like it”.
